Niños con Valor Christmas Letter 2011
As the holiday season quickly approaches, Niños con Valor is preparing for our special Christmas and holiday celebrations. The girls of Corazón del Pastor are preparing their annual Christmas play, and the boys of Pedacito de Cielo are working on learning Christmas and holiday songs. The holiday season is always a special, memorable time for the foundation because we give thanks together, create new positive memories, celebrate the ultimate gift of Love and welcome in a new year full of possibility and hope.
We hold on to this hope for a brighter future for our children despite the impact of the international economic crisis, as well as the continual rising prices in Bolivia. Niños con Valor's finances have been stretched to their limit this past year. Providing food, adequate medical care, clothes and shoes, school supplies, and everyday needs for 45 children in our three projects is extremely costly. Our foundation strives to provide the best care and support for our children, which has proven to be more and more challenging as the economic strain has increased.
Many have become aware of the consumerism that is rampant throughout the world and have made the conscientious choice to focus rather on relationships, giving to others and making a positive difference in the world. This holiday season we are asking our very generous NCV family to consider choosing one of our alternative gift ideas:
- provide new school supplies and clothes for our school-age-children
- help pay for extracurricular activities that will expand the opportunities of our children,
- help cover two months costs of medical treatment for a child
- sponsor and create a lasting relationship with one of our beautiful children.
This support and assistance will not only help the foundation, but will also positively impact and the change the life of a Bolivian child forever.

Each January, before the start of the new school year, the children need new notebooks and texbooks, art supplies and pencils, school uniforms and shoes. With your donation, a school-age-child will receive all that he or she needs in order to begin and complete the school year. This is a huge cost for the foundation, but a very important investment that promotes the importance of education and knowledge for our children.

Because the foundation focuses on providing holistic and individualized care to each child, we desire to provide our children with opportunities that help them overcome their pasts, discover their talents and passions, and break the cycles that their families have been caught in for generations. With your $50 pledge you can send a child to dance and arts classes, sports camps, classes to learn hair styling techniques or cake decorating, and fun vacation activities and outings with the staff during the new year. Sports and the arts are so important for children, and we want to ensure that the children of NCV have the opportunity to develop a variety of skills, create career aspirations, and are having fun and meeting new people!

Because some of our children live with HIV and others have serious medical conditions, the monthly cost of medicines, treatments, and visits to specialists and doctors adds up. We also must cover the unexpected monthly medical needs, such as cold and flu medicines, and bacteria and parasite treatments. However, by contributing $20, the average cost of two months of medical care for the children will be covered. Medical care is extremely important for the NCV children, especially those who need extra support and treatment.
