Niños con Valor Christmas Letter 2010
It is always exciting when December rolls around: vacations are fresh upon us, anticipation of celebrating Christ's birth and holiday festivities rise, we are able to look back on a year of challenges and victories, and we are able to look forward to another year full of hope.
We wanted to take a look back over the past year with you, grateful and joyful for the many opportunities that our supporters provided for our children and staff alike. We'd also like to encourage you to consider making a year-end gift to NCV to help us do the same in 2011.
Looking Back...
This has been such a great year! Here are some of our highlights:
A Growing Family
With the addition of a sibling group of 5 brothers and sisters, both Corazón del Pastor and Pedacito de Cielo reached their limits this year. Seeing the growth of these kids in just the small amount of time they have been with us reminds us what a difference can be made with love and investment.
15 years old!
We have had our first quinceañeras, Olivia and Sofia, celebrate their birthdays this year.
Bringing a Family Together
After over 5 years of waiting, Angela and Diana finally are living with their adoptive parents. It has been a long, but worthwhile wait!
Reaching Out
2010 has also been a year in which our One Child at a Time program has really begun to solidify relationships that have been developing over the past couple of years. We now are supporting in very concrete ways two needy families, and have seen our relationship with the municipality of Mizque grow.
Thanks to sponsors and one-time gifts, we are able to help a young woman attend law school in the new year.
We were also able to provide a sibling group of 5 new shoes for the first time in their lives, and completely equipped a daycare in the distant mountain village of Pantipampa.
Looking Ahead...
As 2011 fast approaches, we look forward to watching our children reach more milestones: 3 more quinceañeras, 4 children seeking adoptive families, not to mention all the new walkers and talkers we are bound to have at PDC. We also look forward to taking more steps towards our vision of Ciudadela Niños con Valor, our community project that will eventually provide care for up to 120 children and so much more! This project has been a dream in the making since 2007, and thanks to the volunteer efforts of Daniel Bennett we are very close to being able to give you a virtual tour of what the project could eventually look like. To whet your appetite, here is a rendering of the almost complete 3D model:
Most of all, we look forward to another year of smiles :) This has all been possible thanks to the generous support of individuals, churches and granting organizations - please consider making a gift today and help us continue to bring joy to these wonderful kids.
Don't Forget...
The more participation that you, our supporter, invests in NCV, the more awareness we are able to create, the more children we are able to reach. If you haven't already, please consider:
So, from all of us in Cochabamba, we send you the warmest of Season's Greetings, and thank you so much for your generous support in 2010!
