We are excited to announce that the Bolivian foundation Niños con Valor will be launching a new project in October 2008. This is a pilot project, in that there is nothing like it in all of Bolivia. While there are residences for adults struggling with HIV/AIDS and in need of economic assistance, there are no projects specifically geared towards children, providing them a safe and fun place to spend their days while their parents work. Existing daycare centers reject these children because of fear due to lack of understanding.

Thus, at the request of groups of mothers living with HIV/AIDS, and in collaboration with the network, Vivo en Positivo, we are excited to be able to offer these children the same opportunities that other children have here in Bolivia.

However, the reality is we need more financial backing for this project. The need is so pressing that we have decided to push forward with the limited funding we have already received. We are currently set to accept a maximum of 6 children, which means many kids will remain in the same situation they are now. Please consider helping us, either in the furnishing of the center, or towards the monthly expenses.
