When I was younger, some of my favorite times were vacations from school–art projects and movies, trips to the park and playing for hours on end. This is no different for the girls of Corazon del Pastor! They have been looking forward to their two weeks off for months, counting down the weeks and the days. The girls have been busy with classes and other fun activities–trying to soak in every fun, exciting moment before heading back to school next week.

While working at CdP last weekend, we made jewelry. The girls were engaged and absorbed in this project for hours–making friendship bracelets and matching rings, necklaces for the tias and headbands. It was so wonderful watching them put so much work into something and smiling at the product! I hope to do more projects like this because building creativity and art skills is so important for kids!

Because none of the girls had vacation classes on Tuesday, we headed to a local park with huge slides and swings. Before this outing, I had never been to this park, but judging by the excitement of the girls, I could tell it was going to be such an adventure! Once we walked through the gates, the girls took off up four flights of stairs to fly down these slides! I must say that they were all so brave, and enjoyed every second spent in the park! Watching them laugh and smile, scream and hold hands down these slides made my day! A few of the little ones were scared at first, but with a little help from the older girls, they were heading down all by themselves in no time! Below are a few pictures from the park:

This is what vacation time is all about–having fun, spending time together, and making memories to last a lifetime. So glad that I have the opportunity to spend time with the girls, and share these special moments with them!
