As part of our work with a few of the many impoverished rural communities surrounding Cochabamba, each Christmas we bring a bit of holiday cheer to the children of these communities, bearing a hot breakfast, gifts, and gift baskets for the most needy families in the area.
These events are put on with the support of Orkney Helping Hands in Scotland, who supplied the funds for the gift baskets, from Coca-Cola and Prodem, who helped us with the gifts, and Pil, who sent bags of soymilk to include in the gift baskets.
While we understand that big one-time events such as these do little to help the chronic suffering the families of these communities face, it provides them with at least one day of smiles, and provides us with a great opportunity to connect with community leaders, and learn of their more pressing needs.

Kelley's going homeWe are all super sad that these next couple of days will be the last in Kelley Journey's volunteer time with us, but we are are so grateful that she will be joining our US charity to help us raise more awareness and funds, and thus reach out to more children in need. We'll miss you Kelley!
