Yes, but it might not be what you think;)
One of our very first residents at PDC, Guillermo, moved on Saturday to be with his forever family! After much anticipation and not-so-patient waiting, Paola, our administrator finally got the paperwork to be Guillermo’s guardian! This has been a long time coming, and we’re all excited to see this family finally officially together.
On Saturday we had a little goodbye party for Guillermo, although, we know that we’ll be seeing him frequently, we wanted to celebrate with both Paola and him. It was very touching to see him go running into Paola’s arms for a huge hug and lots of kisses. I have a feeling it will be a quick transition from ‘Tia Pollo’ to ‘Mama Pollo’

Thank you for reading my email. My 16 yr. old daughter and I plan on doing some volunteer work this coming summer 2012 for about 3 weeks. We want to volunteer at an orphanage. We currently are a foster family in the US. I am a 2nd and 4th grade certified teacher. I love my job and helping others. My daughter, husband and I volunteer in our community now it is time to give elsewhere. I am also interested in adoption of an older child. Though this is not my main purpose for volunteer, this is something I would consider. I realize this would not happen on my trip and I understand the process but am just curious if your children are available for adoption. Do you have positions open for volunteer work for this coming June 2012? Let me know.
